RGS CEO Highlights Senegal Gas Infrastructure Development at MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025

DAKAR, Senegal, October 28, 2025 — Pape Momar Lô, Chief Executive Officer of Senegal’s state-owned Réseau Gazier du Sénégal (RGS SA), will join the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 Conference and Exhibition as a featured speaker.

His participation underscores Senegal’s rising prominence in the region through Senegal gas infrastructure development, which is set to transform domestic energy use, industrial growth, and regional trade.

Established to design, build, and operate the national gas transport system, RGS is advancing a series of bankable projects to develop a nearly 400 km integrated gas pipeline network.

This strategic infrastructure will connect offshore gas fields to power plants, industrial zones, and key demand centers across Senegal.

  • The project is segmented into five phases:
  • North Segment: 85 km, 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mscf/d), €275 million
  • Green Segment: 110 km, 300 mscf/d, €183 million
  • Blue Segment: 100 km, 713 mscf/d, €214 million
  • Orange Segment: 45 km, 300 mscf/d, €153 million
  • Red Segment: 17 km, 150 mscf/d, €150 million

The first segment is currently in the market allocation phase, with subsequent segments slated for launch later this year.

Once operational, this network will serve as a cornerstone of Senegal gas infrastructure development, supporting domestic energy security, reducing electricity costs, and promoting value-added industrial growth.

Driving Regional Energy Growth

Beyond Senegal, the pipeline network is designed to link with the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline, a 5,700 km infrastructure project connecting Africa to global energy markets.

This integration will enable Senegal to export surplus gas capacity, strengthen regional energy security, and diversify supply routes.

RGS has deployed an innovative financing model that combines public participation with private capital, aiming to secure stable revenue flows through long-term off-takers, including national utilities and industrial customers.

The system provides investors with a broad spectrum of opportunities, from EPC contracts to joint ventures and financing options, advancing Senegal gas infrastructure development across multiple dimensions.

The commencement of production at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project in 2025 further elevates the importance of this multi-segment pipeline network.

MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference

By leveraging domestic gas resources, Senegal aims to drive sustainable economic growth while positioning itself as a regional gas hub.

MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025: Catalyzing Investment

At the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 Conference, RGS will engage directly with investors, industry stakeholders, and regional decision-makers to discuss actionable pathways for energy and infrastructure development.

Lô’s participation highlights opportunities for financing, EPC contracts, and long-term supply partnerships, reinforcing the critical role of Senegal gas infrastructure development in driving industrial growth and regional trade.

“By harnessing domestic gas through an integrated national pipeline network, RGS is laying the foundation for power generation, industrial expansion, and regional energy trade.

The opportunities this creates are immense — from financing and EPC contracts to long-term supply partnerships. Investing in this system means investing in Senegal’s sustainable future,” said Sandra Jeque, Project Director at Energy Capital & Power.
