A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and aspirant for the party’s National Youth Leader position, Dr. Kabara Ajala Nasir, has called for increased participation of women in leadership and politics, marking International Women’s Day.
In a statement released on Saturday, Dr. Kabara highlighted the importance of celebrating women not only for their achievements but also for their role in shaping the future of politics, governance, and society.
According to him, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to reflect on progress in gender equality and identify areas where women continue to face challenges, particularly in political and decision-making spaces.
“Women are the backbone of our communities. Their dedication and resilience inspire change and growth in every sector, from education and business to governance and public service,” Dr. Kabara said.
As an aspirant for the APC’s National Youth Leader position, he stressed the importance of youth engagement in promoting women’s leadership, noting that young men and women must work together to foster inclusive policies and equitable representation in political structures.
Dr. Kabara Ajala Nasir also called on political parties, government institutions, and civil society organizations to create platforms for mentoring and supporting women aspiring for leadership positions.
He emphasized that empowering women in politics is not only a moral imperative but a strategic step toward sustainable development and strong governance.
He urged young women across Nigeria to remain ambitious and active in shaping policy, leadership, and community development, adding that their voices are essential to building a stronger, more representative political system.
Highlighting the intersection of youth and women empowerment, Dr. Kabara pledged that if elected as the APC National Youth Leader, he would champion initiatives that increase women’s participation, support women-led programs, and promote gender-sensitive policies within the party and beyond.
He also recognized women in his constituency and nationwide for their contributions, describing them as leaders, innovators, and agents of change who deserve greater recognition and support.
Dr. Kabara concluded by stressing that the struggle for equality requires continuous commitment from both men and women, urging citizens to advocate for women’s leadership and actively participate in creating inclusive political environments.
“On this International Women’s Day, let us recommit ourselves to advancing women’s rights, supporting young leaders, and ensuring that every woman has the opportunity to influence the decisions that shape our nation,” he added.
With his statement, Dr. Kabara Ajala Nasir has positioned himself as a youth-focused, inclusive leader advocating for women empowerment while highlighting his readiness to drive change within the APC and the political landscape at large.
