British woman stabbed to death in Cambodia

A 34-year-old British woman, Jessica Cariad Hopkins, was found stabbed to death in a park in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Friday.

According to the Cambodian police, the motive behind the killing appears to be a “love triangle” involving Hopkins and a 33-year-old Congolese national, Kidikila Nganda Glodie, who was arrested at a nearby salon in connection with the death.

The police investigation revealed that Hopkins was stabbed multiple times in the park, and witnesses reported seeing two people questioned by the police after allegedly live-streaming the attack on social media. However, they were later released.

The authorities spent around 17 hours investigating before making the arrest. Chuon Narin, deputy commissioner general and commissioner of Phnom Penh Police, stated that early investigations suggest a love triangle was the suspected motive behind the killing.
