Fake Policeman Arrested in Ogun

A man named Harry Collins, who is 52 years old, was taken into custody by the Ogun Police Department for impersonating a law enforcement officer on the Long bridge in Warewa, which is located in the state of Ogun.

A statement that was released on Saturday in Abeokuta, Omolola, by the spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command.

Odutola stated that the suspect was taken into custody while fully clad in a police uniform and holding the rank of sergeant.

Odutola made the statement that the suspect was taken into custody on February 20, during a reconnaissance patrol that was headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations.

According to Odutola, Collins was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his impersonation during the interrogation process.

This contributed to the suspicion that was developed regarding Collins’s conduct.

In addition, she stated that investigations were on-going to identify his reasons for acting in this manner as well as any possible criminal participation.

“The patrol team became suspicious of the suspect’s presence on the  bridge and conducted an immediate arrest.

“The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation; the Police Command in Ogun State further warn the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individual.”
