As reported, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna state, has denied defecting to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) or any other political party.
Social media users and several internet sites announced on Sunday that Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor, has rejoined the PDP in order to run for president in 2027.
But El-Rufai stated that he will take legal action against those he referred to as false news vendors.
The former governor urged the public to ignore the allegations, writing on his verified X page, “Please disregard the patent lies and rumors about my political affiliation.”
I have asked my lawyers to take further action against the main propagandists of the fake news.
According to one of the former governor’s advisers, who wished to remain anonymous, El-Rufai’s alleged defection to any political party was untrue and the work of nefarious individuals.
“It is the handiwork of mischief makers,” the aide stated. The report is untrue, but I don’t want to talk about the troublemaker’s social media activities. Neither the PDP nor any other party did the former governor join.
