Tayo Akinrinola, the first defendant in a ritual murder case, has changed his story for the third time. Initially, he confessed to killing a victim, Tunde, and dismembering his body. However, he later recanted this confession, claiming that he was forced to make the statement.

According to ASP Aluko Olayiwola, a prosecution witness, Akinrinola initially admitted to severing the victim’s head and other body parts but claimed he found the body along the Ibadan-Oyo Expressway after an accident. When investigated, no evidence of an accident or blood was found.

Akinrinola then confessed to killing Tunde, stating that he had been monitoring him and stabbed him in the stomach. He dismembered the body, removing the head, hands, legs, and flesh from the thigh.

However, on February 17, Akinrinola changed his story again, claiming that his initial confession was not written by him and that he was forced to make the statement. The case continues at the State High Court in Ibadan.
