The Senate spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu, has criticized Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for her outburst during a dispute over her seating arrangement in the chamber.

Akpoti-Uduaghan had refused to use her reassigned seat, citing Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules, which protects members’ privileges.

The dispute arose after opposition members switched to the majority wing, triggering a reshuffle.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Adaramodu said the Senate is not a platform for entertainment, but for serious business.

He also addressed Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claim of being sidelined, noting that she had been appointed chairperson of three committees, including Foreign Affairs and NGOs.

The incident has sparked reactions from various groups, including over 300 women groups who have condemned Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s remarks during the incident.
