According to reports, Mr. Remi Abass, one of the ousted Local Government chairmen in Osun State, was shot and killed.
Today, some thugs broke into the local government secretariat in Ikire and shot and killed Honorable Remi Abass, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who represented Irewole Local Government.
When the fired chairmen stormed their offices on Monday, a crisis broke out among the state’s local governments, leading to Abass’s death.
Investigations have started, according to the Osun State Police Command, who verified the incident.
SP Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer, “We are working to apprehend the perpetrators and restore calm in the area.”
Two verified deaths have also occurred in Boripe LGA of the state, according to IREPORT247NEW.
The altercation started when some thugs purportedly affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) tried to seize control of the council.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased were shot dead by thugs and were identified as Ege and Igara. Ege, who recently defected from the APC to the PDP, was the sole son of his parents; it is also reported that his father was a PDP member.
According to the Daily Post, another individual, identified as photographer Yinka, was also shot and is presently in serious condition at an unnamed hospital.
