The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has officially issued the results for the 2024 second series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE for private applicants.

The examination was administered at 5,067 locations nationwide and included both computer-based and paper-based formats.

Interestingly, 43,923 applicants in all, or 67.55% of the exam takers, received credit or above in at least five subjects.

According to a statement made by Moyosola Adesina, the acting head of public affairs, 34,878 candidates (53.64%) out of the 65,023 who took the examination showed promising performance, particularly in five subjects, including English language and mathematics.

There were 31,504 male and 33,519 female among the participants, 62,354 candidates (95.90%) had their results fully processed and made available, according to WAEC, while 2,669 candidates (4.10%) were still awaiting results because of submission issues.

Additionally, accusations of exam misconduct resulted in the withholding of results for 2,577 candidates (3.96%).
