The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will temporarily close on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day. This closure was confirmed by the diplomatic mission in a statement posted on X on Sunday.

According to the statement, normal operations will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The U.S. observes Presidents’ Day annually on the third Monday of February to honor past and present leaders of the nation.

While the embassy and consulate are closed, essential services will remain accessible through emergency contact channels. However, routine consular services, including visa applications and American citizen services, will resume after the holiday.
