In a proactive move, the Ogun State Police Command has intercepted a group of 20 young individuals possessing dangerous weapons, including daggers, knives, cutlasses, and suspected charms. The group, whose origin remains unknown, was apprehended near the Ogun-Oyo boundary on February 15, 2025.

According to Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command, the interception occurred during a routine weekend patrol led by Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo. Upon observing the group’s suspicious behavior, CP Ogunlowo ordered a search of their persons and belongings, resulting in the discovery of the dangerous weapons.

The Commissioner has directed the immediate detention and profiling of the individuals, with instructions to charge anyone found culpable in court promptly. This move reaffirms the Command’s commitment to proactive policing, community engagement, and ensuring justice is served.

CP Ogunlowo urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police formation, highlighting the importance of community collaboration in preventing crime.
