Parents and candidates preparing for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are growing increasingly frustrated with the registration process at various centres. The issues began on February 3, when the registration exercise commenced.

According to reports, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had initially postponed the registration from January 31 to implement essential adjustments to its registration templates. These adjustments were necessary due to the suspension of certain law programs at selected universities and the discovery of deceptive facilities used by some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres .

Candidates and parents have expressed their disappointment and frustration with the challenges faced at the registration centres. Some of the issues reported include system errors, delayed commencement of the examination, and difficulties with linking mobile telephone lines with National Identification Numbers (NIN).
