First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu contributed N100 million to victims of a dynamite explosion in Sabon-Pegi in the state’s Mashegu Local Government Area, and Niger State Governor Hajiya Fatima Bago, the governor’s wife, has disbursed the money.
On January 26, there was an explosion at Sabon Pegi in the Mashegu Local Government Area, which left three persons reportedly dead and many others injured.
A N100 million contribution to the victims of the explosion was disclosed during Remi Tinubu’s condolence visit to Governor Umaru Bago.
Hajiya Bago clarified that the intervention was intended to assist roughly 70 individuals impacted by the tragedy during the First Lady’s contribution distribution.
The wife of the governor emphasized the necessity of a campaign to raise awareness among parents about the dangers of illicit mining.
Through a variety of media outlets, Mrs. Bago pledged to work with the Ministries of Women Affairs and Humanitarian to raise awareness of the risks associated with illicit mining.
