Gov Diri Fifth Anniversary: Gov Otu Opens Project in Bayelsa

As Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri began celebrating his fifth anniversary, Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu officially opened Road 24, Okaka in Yenagoa.

Governor Diri said, “The inauguration of road infrastructure and other projects mark the commemoration of our fifth year in office. The face of the capital city, Yenagoa, is changing for good.” As part of the centennial celebrations, the governor of Bayelsa State also announced medical outreach initiatives.

According to Otu, deputy chairman of the South-South Governors Forum, Diri was using the federation allocation’s funds wisely given the road’s condition.

He said that his Bayelsa counterpart was making progress in a number of state development areas and that they highly respect him as a fearless and brave leader. He also praised Diri for finishing the initiatives that had been left to him by his predecessor, saying that this was the key to consistency.

The governor praised the peaceful conduct of Obenibe-Epie, King Malla Sasime, and the people, saying that it allowed the contractor to complete the project.

Otu expressed his happiness that Bayelsa will have a 24-hour power supply with Diri on the saddle and asked the people to keep supporting the government so that it can start more development projects. Diri said the Bayelsa landscape was taking on a new look as his administration would inaugurate projects throughout the state.
