Thierry Henry, a former France international, has been voted the greatest player in Premier League history by former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi.

Over the years, a number of the Premier League’s stars have made lasting impressions.

Alan Shearer leads the all-time goalscorers’ record with 260 top-flight goals, making him the best player to ever grace the English game in the eyes of some.

Others believe that Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese legend, is the best, especially considering how many trophies he has. He only stayed in England for six years, though, and made a greater impression in La Liga.

Because of their impact from 2004 to 2015, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, and John Terry are considered worthy of recognition by the majority of Chelsea supporters.

Mohamed Salah, a star for Liverpool, has joined the discussion as a result of his reliable performances. In the English Premier League, the Egyptian has scored 178 goals and provided 82 assists.

But according to Mikel, a former Super Eagle, Salah hasn’t done enough to earn the title of greatest player in Premier League history. Don’t forget that Mikel also played with Terry, Lampard, and Drogba.

He even faced up against Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. Nevertheless, he thinks Henry is the greatest player in English Premier League history.

“Numbers-wise, you can put Salah in the conversation, but when you want to talk about a complete player, you can’t put him in the conversation,” Mikel said on the Obi One Podcast.

“I’m a huge fan of Salah, he’s my friend, I know him from my days at Chelsea, although he’s a different Salah now because he’s so confident, he looks mentally and physically stronger.

“The best player that has played in the Premier Legaue is Thierry Henry. There was a period he dominated the Premier Legaue for 2-3 years. He had everything, he was so good on the ball, he had everything.”

”Mikel spent over ten years at Chelsea and made a big impact, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League.
