Regarding Samuel Chukwueze’s future, Milan director Geoffrey Moncada stated that the Nigerian international will not be leaving during the January transfer window.

Major European leagues have closed their winter transfer windows, but nations like Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Hungary, and Serbia are still accepting applications.

Social media is talking about Chukwueze maybe moving to Super Lig club Besiktas after his deadline-day deal to Premier League team Fulham collapsed.

Geoffrey Moncada has clarified, though, that the transfer rumors were baseless. He told Sport Mediaset prior to AC Milan’s Coppa Italia match against Roma on Wednesday: “I can affirm that Chukweze will stay with us, he is another possibility on the right and we are happy.”

On the day of the English transfer deadline, Fulham contemplated signing Chukwueze; however, the deal fell through, and the Cottagers turned their attention to Willian, a former Brazilian player.

The former Villarreal star will have less playing opportunities as a result of AC Milan’s January transfer window acquisitions of the attack-minded trio of Riccardo Sottil, João Félix, and Sergio Conceiçao.

The Nigerian international was not used as a substitute in AC Milan’s 3-1 victory against Roma to reach the Coppa Italia semifinals. Chukwueze has participated in 25 games across all competitions this season, with four goals and one assist.
