
As part of its efforts to strengthen secondary healthcare delivery services, the Bauchi State Executive Council (SEC) approved the comprehensive rehabilitation of the State Specialist Hospital on Wednesday.
According to the Health Commissioner, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam, the consent was provided during the SEC meeting convened by Governor Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
The summit also saw choices made for the state’s growth and development in accordance with the administration’s “My Bauchi State” agenda.
While briefing journalists on the outcome of the SEC meeting at Government House, the State Commissioner stated that projects to be completed during the exercise include the purchase of new hospital equipment, the renovation of structures such as staff quarters, and other initiatives to attract more health workers to the State.
According to the Commissioner, further measures recommended by Governor Bala Mohammed include the State Head of Civil Service reviewing the wage structure of doctors working in the state.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner of Housing and Environment, Danlami Ahmad Kawule, said that the council ratified the refurbishment of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Complex to establish a suitable environment for members of the State House of Assembly and the Bauchi State House Of Assembly Commission.
Danlami Kawule stated that the initiative, which will shortly begin, reflects the governor’s commitment to revitalizing the major sectors of the economy.
In his contribution, Alhaji Usman Usman Shehu, State Commissioner of Information and Communication, stated that the council has been deliberating on the digitalization of Bauchi State Television (BATV) and the Bauchi State Radio Corporation (BRC) since the equipment came.
He claimed that another memo from the Ministry of Information and Communication is about young employment through cyber security in conjunction with the Canadian government, and that the goal is to assure the continual training and employment of more adolescents for long-term growth and development.
