Marcus Rashford has signed on loan with Aston Villa after leaving Manchester United, and the winger has now spoken out about the transfer.

Ruben Amorim reportedly removed Rashford from the United first-team squad due to his attitude. The Portuguese then confirmed that the England international would not be included in his squad until his conduct and dedication to the team improved significantly.

In the meantime, Rashford continued to explore for ways to leave the club during the winter transfer window, whether on loan or permanently. The winger was extensively linked with Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan, but all three prospects faded around the deadline, as Aston Villa rushed in late to take the England international on loan. Rashford has spoken out for the first time since his move to the West Midlands, praising Unai Emery.

On Instagram, Rashford wrote: “I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.”

“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”

The England winger hasn’t played an official game since December 12 and may not be ready to play right away. As a result, Aston Villa may delay Rashford’s debut until after their FA Cup fourth-round match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, February 9. However, if Emery is impressed with the star during training, he may make an appearance against Tottenham.
