Marcus Rashford (27) has signed a loan deal with Aston Villa from Manchester United, the Midlands club confirmed on Sunday night.

The England international, who has 60 caps for the Three Lions, has signed a deal with Villa until the end of the season.

Rashford has 138 goals in over 400 games for Manchester United, where he has won the Europa League, two FA Cups, and two League Cups.

Villa have rushed to sign Rashford after selling Colombia striker Jhon Duran to Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr on Friday.

That came following a 2-0 loss to relegation-threatened Wolves on Saturday, after which Villa manager Unai Emery stated that the club “needs new players”.

The 27-year-old has been linked with AC Milan and Barcelona, and his representatives are thought to have spoken with Tottenham and West Ham during the January transfer window.

The versatile forward, who can play anywhere on the front line, has 17 goals for England and has competed in two World Cups and two European Championships.

Rebuild for Rashford? A temporary move to Villa would help Rashford to rebuild his tarnished reputation following his stunning fall from grace over the last two years.

Villa might profit from a rejuvenated Rashford with something to prove as they strive for a top-four finish in the Premier League while also playing in the Champions League round of 16.
