There have been reports of multiple residents of Amegu Nkalaha Community in Ishielu Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, being killed and injured by suspected herdsmen.
Armed with rifles and cutlasses, the attackers stormed the neighbourhood, killing numerous individuals and demolishing homes; the precise number of victims is still unknown.
Mrs. Ifeoma Agwu, the chairman of Ishielu LGA, said that the number of casualties was still unknown because the bodies were still being evacuated.
“We are currently transporting the victims’ bodies to the mortuary. I can’t provide further details at the moment, but more information will be shared later,” she stated.
Few days ago, Suspected herdsmen attacked a village in Ajegunle-Powerline, Akure North local government area, Ondo State and killed at least five people according to IREPORT247NEW.
The attack was also confirmed by Prof. Ndubuisi Idenyi, the former chairman of the EBSU ASUU, who called it a tragedy.
The terrorists struck early on Sunday morning, killing and injuring multiple people and setting homes on fire, Prof. Idenyi said.
