A lawmaker from Anambra is abducted by gunmen on Christmas Eve.

A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Justice Azuka, was abducted by gunmen along Ugwunapampa Road in Onitsha, Anambra State.

According to Ikenga Tochukwu, the state police spokesperson, this incident happened on Tuesday, December 24.

He mentioned that while travelling home for the Christmas celebrations, the legislator, who represents the Onitsha North constituency, was ambushed by armed men along Ugwunapampa Road in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Ikenga added that operational procedures have been put into place by the command to save the legislator.

He stated, “According to the incident report, he was kidnapped by unknown individuals on December 24, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m., while travelling home along Ugwunapampa Road.

“To guarantee his rescue and the apprehension of those accountable, the command is pursuing leads.”

“As the investigation develops, more updates will be given.”
