At least five people have been slain by suspected terrorists in Lighitlubang village, which is located in Plateau State’s Mangu Local Government Area.
Suspected terrorists are said to have carried out the Friday evening attack.
Witnesses claim that the terrorists massacred the victims after storming the village while the occupants were asleep.
The incidence was reported by one of the villagers.
He stated, “It happened yesterday at about midnight of 31/01/2025. Some suspected terrorists entered Lighitlubang village in Bungha District of Mangu Local Government and killed a family of five people, a man, his wife and a child with another man and wife all slaughtered.”
DSP Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, stated that security personnel had been sent to the impacted area to keep the calm while the inquiry got underway.
“I will get details from the DPO if they return from the bush because they have gone to the village,” the PPRO stated.
