The Business-Enabling Reforms Action Plan (BERAP), which aims to further the state’s economic development goal in 2025, was adopted by the Oyo State Executive Council.

Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, said in a statement that the clearance will make conducting business in the State much easier and attract more investors.

Prof. Musbau Babatunde, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, presented the letter to the Executive Council yesterday.

He stated that BERAP will use the labour electronic register to help corporate organisations better access skilled labour.

He claims that it will also make it easier to create an export cluster for cashews, shea butter, and handicrafts.

The state’s GDP will increase as a result of this decision, and the anticipated money from non-oil exports will stimulate the state’s economy.

Beginning in 2025, the Office of the Accountant-General, the Oyo State Investment Promotion Agency, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives will collaborate with the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to carry out the Business-Enabling Reforms Action Plan.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s generous financial assistance to Mr. Sola Ajayi, a Senior Cameraman of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), who suffered a spinal cord damage in an accident, was also commended by the Council.

Although he promised that the government would remain committed to accomplishing its goals, the governor acknowledged that 2025 would be a more difficult year and thanked the Executive Council members for their cooperation and concentration throughout the previous year.
