Oriyomi Hamzat, the proprietor of Agidigbo FM, and prophetess Naomi Silekunola, the former spouse of the Ooni of Ife, have been placed under detention at the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Fasasi Abdulahi, the principal of Bashorun Islamic High School, was also sentenced to prison by the magistrate court.
According to The Nation, the decision was made by Chief Magistrate Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi during the suspects’ arraignment on Tuesday, December 24.
A four-count accusation of conspiracy, acceleration of death, careless acts causing harm, and failing to provide proper security and medical facilities was brought against the suspects at their arraignment.
As Hamzat supporters came to watch the decision, there was tension on the court grounds. When police vehicles carrying the suspects started to leave the court grounds, the situation almost got out of control, but strict security kept everything under control.
