Five Injured in Lagos Auto Accident

A commercial bus and a Toyota Highlander were involved in an accident on the Third Mainland Bridge at the University of Lagos Waterfront inward Adeniji area earlier Tuesday, causing a brief disruption in traffic flow.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority revealed this information in an X post on Tuesday.

LASTMA said that its officials, along with good Samaritans, quickly rescued the injured victims and made sure they received prompt medical attention. Five people have suffered varying degrees of injuries in the accident.

“An accident occurred on the Third mainland bridge at Unilag Waterfront inward Adeniji, and it involved a commercial bus and a Toyota Highlander, according to the post

“There are 5 casualties (Injured persons) involved and have been swiftly rescued by LASTMA officials and other good Samaritans.”

Additionally, it stated that attempts are now being made to recover the impacted vehicles and get the popular bridge back to normal traffic.

“Recovery of the affected vehicles is also expected to be done now, he added.

LASTMA advised drivers to always drive carefully, respect speed limits, and properly inspect their vehicles before leaving.

The organization emphasized that in order to stop preventable accidents, road safety measures are crucial.

Additionally, drivers are urged to prioritize safety and work with traffic officials to safeguard people and property.
