Vice President Kashim Shettima has pledged that the Tinubu administration is commitment to addressing critical national issues, including economic revitalization, enhanced security, and the fight against corruption.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Shettima outlined the government’s strategic plans to tackle these pressing challenges facing the nation.

Highlighting the urgency of the current economic situation, Shettima acknowledged the hardships faced by many Nigerians due to rising inflation and unemployment rates.

“We are fully aware of the struggles our citizens endure, and we are determined to implement measures that will stimulate economic growth and restore confidence in our financial systems,” he stated.

The Vice President emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for investment and entrepreneurship as key components of the administration’s economic agenda.Security remains a top priority for the government, with Shettima reaffirming the administration’s commitment to curbing the escalating violence and unrest that have plagued various regions, particularly in the northeast. “We will deploy all necessary resources to ensure the safety and security of every Nigerian.

Our approach will be comprehensive, focusing not only on military action but also on community engagement and rehabilitation for those affected by violence,”

Shettima also addressed the pervasive issue of corruption, which has long hindered Nigeria’s development.

He vowed to strengthen anti-corruption measures and ensure accountability at all levels of government. “Corruption undermines our progress, and we will not tolerate it. We will work tirelessly to uphold the rule of law and create a transparent governance system that serves the interests of the people,” he asserted.

The Vice President’s remarks come at a crucial time as the government seeks to regain public trust and address the concerns of citizens who have expressed frustration over economic challenges and security lapses.

Shettima’s agenda has been met with cautious optimism from various sectors of society, with many hoping that these commitments will translate into tangible actions and results.

As the administration moves forward, stakeholders and citizens alike will be watching closely to see how effectively these promises are implemented.

The success of these initiatives will be pivotal in shaping Nigeria’s future and restoring faith in its leadership.

VP Shettima who was represented by his Special Adviser on political issues, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, admitted that while democracy is not a perfect system, compared to others, it is the best form of government.

“We will listen and adjust where necessary, and we will account for our stewardship in all matters our challenging democratic systems demand.“

“I am convinced that Nigeria shall rise again, answer to its full potential and lead the way to a future that has learnt lessons from a difficult past into a world in which our country will be a key player, and our young will be active champions of a democratic system because it speaks to them.“

“It has been said many times that democracy is an imperfect system, yet superior to all others.“

“We will continue to seek to provide evidence of the values of the democratic systems by, among others, fixing major weaknesses of our economy, securing our communities, fighting corruption, supporting free and fair elections, strengthening the independence of the judiciary and improving national cohesion,” VP Shettima said
