Mojisola Meranda has officially assumed office as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
She was accompanied to her new office by all honourable members except former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
Following the formal ceremony, Meranda and the members stood for selfies to show their unified support for her leadership. In a joyful atmosphere, the honourable members thanked the Speaker and encouraged her to continue her job.
“Madam, please continue your effort; it is appealing to us. “You are the Speaker, you are the Speaker, you are the Speaker,” they repeated.
“Speak for Lagos.” They all agreed to continue their task. Following the awards, the politicians followed Meranda to her official office, where she received heartfelt prayers as she settled into her new post.
This event came just days after former Speaker Obasa claimed his expulsion was illegal and violated due process.
