While trying to damage a transformer in the Akute neighborhood in Ogun State, an unnamed guy was electrocuted.
The community has been dealing with problems related to electrical wire theft and damage from its power transformer.
The dead had crawled into the transformer house and attempted to cut a wire before being electrocuted and dying, according to a statement acquired by our correspondent on Saturday from Omolola Odutola, the spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command.
She disclosed that the Irewole community’s chairman had informed the police about the event.
Rasheed Ajagbe, the chairman of the Irewole community, told the station at around 10:20 a.m. on Friday that the community had been dealing with theft and damage to electrical cables from their power transformer for some time.
According to Odutola, a group of investigators went to the location and took pictures.
“Once we got the report, detectives visited the scene to investigate and take photographs. The PHCN office was contacted and the corpse was taken and deposited at General Hospital Ifo mortuary, for autopsy and preservation,” the statement added.
