Israeli Forces Continue Bombardment of Gaza, Killing at Least 97 Palestinians
Israel forces have intensified their attacks on Gaza, killing at least 97 Palestinians since dawn, including 36 in the al-Mawasi area, which Israel claims is a “safe zone”.

The attacks come as Israel prepares for a potential ground assault on Gaza and resumes ceasefire talks with Hamas in Qatar.

Meanwhile the Arab leaders in Baghdad have called for an end to Israel’s war on Gaza, appealing for global action to allow humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.

Devastating Human Toll

Israel Palestinians war death toll
The Israeli war on Gaza has resulted in significant human suffering, with at least 53,272 Palestinians killed and 120,673 wounded, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The Government Media Office estimates the death toll to be over 61,700, with thousands more presumed dead under the rubble.

Hamas has strongly condemned the Israel attacks on displaced Palestinians, describing them as “brutal” and “a fascistic crime”. The group stated:

“The brutal crime that embodies the fascism of the war criminal Netanyahu’s government and its flagrant violation of all humanitarian laws and norms.”

Hamas also criticized the US for providing political and military cover to Israel, saying:

“By granting the terrorist occupation government political and military cover, the US administration bears direct responsibility for this insane escalation in the targeting of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, including children, women, and the elderly.”

Hamas has renewed its call to Arab and Islamic countries to intervene urgently to stop the genocide in Gaza. The situation remains dire, with ongoing violence and humanitarian needs.

There’s a growing global appeal for peace in Gaza, with various leaders and organizations calling for an end to the violence. Here are some key developments:

Global Leaders’ Appeals

– The Pope has made a heartfelt appeal for global peace, specifically mentioning the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. He urged world leaders to prioritize diplomacy and humanitarian efforts, saying “never again war!”

Heads of UN humanitarian entities and global NGOs have collectively appealed for world leaders to help prevent further deterioration of the crisis in Gaza, which has resulted in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children.

Humanitarian Concerns: The conflict has resulted in over 43,000 Palestinian deaths and 2,000 deaths in Lebanon.

Additionally, Israeli forces have issued displacement orders covering 84% of Gaza’s territory and 25% of Lebanon’s territory.

– * There’s an urgent need for humanitarian access, including food, medical supplies, and fuel, to prevent further suffering ³.

There is increasing global appeal for peace in Gaza and freedom of the Palestinian people.
