Group Calls For Fair Play at National Sports Festival

The Sport Integrity Foundation has called on the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) and Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the National Sports Festival to prioritize integrity, fair play, and athlete safety.

In a statement issued today, the Foundation emphasized the need for best practices in competition organization, clean sport, and clear strategies to enhance the event’s management in Nigeria.

The Foundation urged organizers to uphold professionalism, accountability, and responsiveness to athletes’ voices, stressing that “every moment counts” in ensuring a successful festival. Athletes were also encouraged to compete with fairness, respect, and a commitment to clean sport.

As an independent body, the Sport Integrity Foundation announced it has established measures to monitor the event and promote its integrity, with members present in Ogun State to observe the games.

The organization extended its best wishes to all participants, underscoring that the greatness of Nigerian sports is a shared responsibility.

Godwin Dele, Secretary of the Sport Integrity Foundation, signed the statement, reaffirming the group’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and respect in Nigerian sports.
