The Adamawa State Police Command has taken two (2) people into custody on suspicion of raping two minors in Sangere Futy in the state’s Girei local government area.SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Command spokesperson who verified the arrest, identified the accused as Sangere Futy residents Usman Abdullahi, 17, and Bala Muhammad, 35.
Two girls, ages 11 and 14, were raped by the suspects, according to SP Nguroje.
He clarified that on January 22, 2025, the police leadership received accusations alleging that the two suspects were responsible for the crime.
Nguroje explained that after receiving the complaint, the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, sent out Command personnel, which resulted in the successful arrest of the accused. During questioning, one of the suspects, Bala Muhammad, allegedly confessed to the crime, claiming that his act was an error.
Another suspect, 17-year-old Abdullahi, also admitted to raping the young girl, but attributed his actions to the devil. CP Morris promised that the suspects would face charges after the investigation was finished.
