Lagos APC Unveils Election Appeal Committee

The APC Appeal Committee is seen as a significant step toward preserving party unity, reinforcing trust in the party’s internal mechanisms, and ensuring that the final list of candidates reflects a transparent and just process.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has officially constituted an Appeal Committee to address the concerns and grievances raised by aspirants who took part in the recently conducted local government primaries.

This move comes in response to protests and discontent expressed by several party members who participated in the primary elections but are dissatisfied with the outcomes.

The Appeal Committee has been tasked with receiving, reviewing, and making recommendations based on the complaints submitted by these aggrieved aspirants.

Its formation underscores the party’s commitment to internal democracy, fairness, and due process, ensuring that all candidates feel heard and that any irregularities or injustices that may have occurred during the primaries are thoroughly investigated and resolved.

The committee is chaired by the current Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, Lawal Pedro (SAN), bringing legal expertise and credibility to the panel. Other prominent members of the committee include:

Otunba Abiodun Olufowobi, who will serve as the Secretary of the committee.

Jokotola Pelumi, a notable political figure.

Lanre Ogunyemi, a former state lawmaker and respected party stalwart.

Chief Chukwudi Adiukwu, a seasoned political leader within the party.


These individuals were carefully selected to bring a wealth of experience, legal knowledge, and political insight to the deliberations, ensuring a balanced and judicious handling of all submitted appeals.

In a statement released by the APC’s Publicity Secretary in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo, all aggrieved aspirants were advised to submit their petitions or formal appeals to the committee for review.

The statement emphasized the importance of adhering to the stipulated deadline, noting that all appeals must be submitted no later than noon today.

This deadline highlights the party’s urgency in resolving disputes swiftly and maintaining momentum toward the upcoming general elections at the local government level.
