The National Sports Commission (NSC) has established a 22-member planning committee to oversee Nigeria’s hosting of the Commonwealth Games King’s Baton Relay, scheduled for June 15–18, 2025.
The relay, a cherished tradition symbolizing unity and sportsmanship across the 74 nations of the Commonwealth, offers Nigeria a platform to highlight its vibrant culture, warm hospitality, and dedication to sporting excellence in anticipation of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Following the event, the King’s Baton will be ceremonially dressed and presented to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, signifying Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to the Commonwealth.
