Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his gratitude and admiration for the love and support he has received from Galatasaray fans during his loan spell with the Turkish giants. Osimhen scored his 33rd goal of the season in Galatasaray’s 4-1 win over Sivasspor on Saturday, setting a new season-high record for his goal contributions.
Inspired by Young Fans
The 26-year-old striker was visibly moved by the enthusiasm of the young fans who flocked around him before the game, wearing masks with his image. “It’s a great feeling. It’s great that they [young fans] are inspired by watching me, that they are wearing the masks. I thank God. I hadn’t seen this much before coming to Galatasaray,” Osimhen said. “Everyone showing this much love, the children shouting at the tunnel exit… I will continue to make them proud. The team winning, me scoring… I want to continue as they know me. If I can inspire my teammates’ children, that makes me very happy.”
Team Comes First
Osimhen also expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and the technical team for their support. “I am at one of the most important clubs in the world. The biggest club in Türkiye. I would like to thank my family and friends for helping me. I would like to thank the technical team and the club staff. They never left me alone. This season is a memory that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Transfer Speculations
As Osimhen nears the end of his loan spell at Galatasaray, transfer speculations are heightened. Galatasaray are reportedly devising a bold financial strategy to sign the player for €60m, with a potential plan to sell him to the Saudi Pro League within two years for a fee in the region of €100m. Other suitors like Juventus, Chelsea, and Manchester United continue to monitor the situation.
Osimhen’s Commitment
Despite the transfer rumors, Osimhen remains committed to helping the team succeed. “Apart from goals and assists, I like to help the team. I want to get the ball in the future, help the midfield, and do my best for the team. The team comes first for me. When I convert opportunities into goals, it makes me happy. The important thing is not Victor Osimhen, but the team.” With his impressive form and dedication to the team, Osimhen is sure to continue making waves in the football world.
