Ladoja accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore of fueling factionalism within NANS

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Olushola Ladoja, has alleged that opposition political parties are behind the creation of “false” factions within the student organization, aiming to undermine its leadership.

Speaking to journalists to address recent developments in the education sector and clarify the NANS leadership’s stance on key issues, Ladoja warned against political interference.

He specifically cautioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar against meddling in student leadership affairs, which Ladoja believes could destabilize the organization.

Additionally, Ladoja accused former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore of fueling factionalism within NANS, further exacerbating internal divisions.

Ladoja’s comments highlight concerns about external influences on student organizations and the potential impact on their autonomy and effectiveness.

IREPORT247NEW had reported that the alleged thugs associated with Seyi Tinubu—the son of President Bola Tinubu—violently interrupted the NANS inauguration event that took place in Abuja, according to Comrade Atiku Isah.

Isah also accused Seyi Tinubu and Minister Ayodele Olawande of offering him a N100 million bribe to promote the president, a claim Seyi Tinubu has denied.

Isah said, “At the inauguration hall which I personally paid for at The Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro, Seyi Tinubu arrived with a large number of security men and ordered them to stop the event.

“Before the day of the inauguration, Seyi had asked the Senior Special Assistant on Students and Youth Affairs to lure me into silence with money. I was told he was ready to offer me a hundred million naira. My refusal to accept the bribe led to the attack yesterday.

“When Seyi’s thugs, led by one Ladoja, came in with machetes and guns, they beat people and injured many. Nigerians should beg Seyi to spare my life.”

Ladoja disputed the existence of any group inside NANS, stating that assertions to the contrary are politically motivated by opposition parties to discredit the association.

Ladoja said, “I can tell you that there is no faction in NANS. Because quote me anywhere, that the Atiku Isah, the only two times I’ve seen him in my life, I’ve talked to him, whenever I see him, he addresses me as Mr. President.

“So what are we saying? I just discovered, if you look at the picture going around in the media yesterday, you see that he has been snapping around, meeting with stakeholders of the opposition party.

“That is to tell you they want to use him. I told you earlier, I don’t know if you remember, one of the reasons for faction in NANS is political engraving.

“It has shown that it’s the opposition parties that want to use him, maybe because of what I just told you now, that they see that some of us are commending the good work and the policy of education Mr. President is doing.”

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Olushola Ladoja, has denied allegations of violence involving him, stating that such incidents would have elicited a nationwide response if they had occurred.

He also addressed recent accusations that some schools were misusing student loan funds from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund), shedding light on the issue from the perspective of the student organization.

By addressing these matters, Ladoja aims to set the record straight and provide clarity on the issues affecting students and the education sector.
