On Saturday, May 3, the mayor of Novorossiisk, a significant Russian port city located on the Black Sea, announced a state of emergency in response to what local authorities explained as a drone strike carried out by the Ukrainian government.

The strike caused damage to a grain terminal as well as many residential buildings, resulting in five people being injured.

The mayor of the city, Andrei Kravchenko, uploaded video footage to his official Telegram account, which had images of broken windows, damaged balconies, and debris strewn across the exteriors of residential buildings.

One of the residential buildings appeared to have substantial structural damage, and there was an automobile that appeared to be crushed beneath the rubble.

There was a woman who was hospitalized and was in critical condition, according to Kravchenko, who confirmed that she was one of the injured. Two children were among those who were injured as a result of the event, according to the local officials.

It was reported by Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of the Krasnodar region, that debris from downed drones caused a fire at the grain terminal of the city.

The debris impacted three storage facilities.  According to reports, there were no injuries at the terminal.

The fire was put out, and cleanup works were now underway, according to Delo Group, the owner of the business that was damaged.

The company has certified that its DeloPorts terminals have continued to function normally, in accordance with the procedures and guidelines issued by the necessary authorities.  Regarding the attack that was reported, Ukraine did not immediately provide a response.

According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia launched a massive attack overnight, deploying 183 drones and two ballistic missiles.
