Oyo Assembly Kicks Off 2025 with Interfaith Prayer Sessions

The Oyo State House of Assembly has officially commenced its plenary sessions for 2025, starting with inspiring interfaith prayer sessions designed to set a positive tone for the year ahead.

Speaker Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin called upon his fellow lawmakers to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their legislative responsibilities.

He underscored the importance of unity, love, and collaboration in achieving the objectives of the 10th Assembly.

In his welcoming address, Ogundoyin reminded his colleagues that their roles are a profound opportunity to serve both God and humanity, urging them to remain focused and resolute in their commitment to their constituents.

“Welcome to the first plenary session of 2025. I extend my gratitude to each of you for your support over the past year.

As we embark on this new chapter, I seek your continued collaboration so we can achieve even greater milestones.

This interfaith prayer session marks the beginning of a productive and cooperative legislative year for Oyo State,” he stated.

The interfaith prayers were led by Mallam Olaitan Sodiq, Chief Imam of the Oyo State House of Assembly Muslim Community, and Pastor Jacob Ologunlaye, Presiding Pastor of CAC, Oke-Ibukun Oluwa, English Mega Assembly in Oke Ado, Ibadan.

The clerics encouraged lawmakers to entrust their endeavors to divine guidance, stressing the need for unity and peaceful coexistence as essential components for fostering rapid development.

The spiritual leaders emphasized that unity among lawmakers is crucial, urging them to commit to the state’s progress through meaningful legislative contributions.
