6 Road Projects will be Commissioned by Wike Starting on this Monday.

Starting on Monday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will begin commissioning six road projects in the six area councils.

The commissioning will begin with the newly built 5-kilometer Naharati-River Ukya to Unguwan Hausawa Road and a three-span river bridge in the Abaji area council, according to a statement signed by Lere Olayinka, senior special assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communication and New Media.

“The commission schedule includes the completion of the 11-kilometer Yangoji-Sukuku-Ebo Road in the Kwali Area Council. Rehabilitation of the 9-kilometer Paikon Kore-Ibwa Road in Gwagwalada Area Council.

“Commissioning of the asphalt carriageway from Garage Junction to the Local Education Authority Secretariat in the Kuje area council.

In Bwari Area Council, the Gaba-Tokulo Road, which includes a two-span river bridge, will be opened.

“The Access Road to Saburi I and II communities in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), which connects ONEX to Old Keffi Road near the Dei-Dei International Market, will also be inaugurated,” he stated.

Olayinka added that a number of new road projects have recently begun, in addition to the ones that have already been put into service. These include the building of the Kabusa-Takushara Access Road, the Kabusa-Ketti Access Road, and an access route to the new EFCC Academy site in Giri District. A 15-kilometer road from the A2 Junction on the Abuja-Lokoja Road to Pia in the Kwali Area Council is also ongoing.

“Other ongoing projects include the reconstruction of the 25-kilometer Kwaita/Yebu Road in Kwali, rehabilitation of the Old Ushafa-LUD Road, and the Dutse-Lower Usuma Dam Dual Carriage in Bwari area council.

“In addition, an 11-kilometer road project connecting Aguma Palace, Radio Nigeria, and New Market in Gwagwalada, as well as the Dakibiyu District Dual Carriage Road, are progressing.

“Further projects in motion consist of the 11-kilometer Kuje Road, the full-scale development of the 4-kilometer Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Road) from Life Camp to Ring Road III, Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way) from Ring Road II to Ring Road III, which includes two interchanges, and an 11.3-kilometer access road to the Judges Quarters in Katampe from Arterial Road N11 (Ahmadu Bello Way in Mabushi),” he said.
