Strong signs have emerged that the Chairman, Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation, Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North), has concluded plans to abandon his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

When Vanguard approached the senator about the situation and inquired about his plans to defect from the PDP to the APC, he simply responded, “soon,” despite the fact that he has not made a public statement of his decision.

Nwoko has been outspoken in his criticism of Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State.

He might be joining the ruling party to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, after his chilly relationship with the state’s PDP leaders.

It was also learned that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the last governor of Delta and the senator who represented Delta North prior to Nwaoboshi, is planning to run for office again in 2027 on the same PDP platform, which is another reason for abandoning the party.
