The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the November 2025 Anambra State election, Jude Ezenwafor, has issued a passionate call for a collective revival of moral values among Nigerian youths, particularly in Anambra. In a statement released on Easter Sunday, Ezenwafor emphasized the need for political leadership, religious institutions, and community stakeholders to prioritize moral reorientation as a key pillar of societal development.

Delivering his Easter message through a press release, Ezenwafor underscored the essence of the season, urging Christians to reflect deeply on the significance of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. He described the Easter celebration as an opportunity for personal and societal renewal.

“There is a need for more pragmatic action and political will to restore decaying morals in the lives of our youths, especially during the Easter celebration. All hands must be on deck to restore our Christian values and guide our children on the path of holiness,” he stated.

Ezenwafor noted with concern the rising moral degradation among youths, which he linked to a breakdown of ethical values, peer pressure, and neglect of faith-based teachings. He stressed that without intentional efforts to instill discipline, honesty, and spirituality, the future of Anambra’s younger generation could be at risk.

He further appealed to Christian leaders to intensify prayers for the security and well-being of the Anambra people, both in Nigeria and in the diaspora, especially given the prevailing insecurity challenges across the region.

“We urge Christian leaders to continue praying for the security of ndi Anambra, both at home and in the diaspora. May God protect the lives of our people, especially in this period of insecurity,” he said.

Encouraging resilience among the people, Ezenwafor highlighted the resurrection of Christ as a symbol of hope, faith, and victory over adversity.

“We encourage ndi Anambra to remain hopeful. The death of our Lord Jesus Christ has brought us hope, salvation, and redemption from our sins. Our daily lives should reflect gratitude for God’s love and sacrifice,” he added.

The governorship hopeful reaffirmed his commitment to Christian values, noting his consistent support for religious activities throughout the Lenten season. He emphasized the need for public figures to model morality and lead by example in both private and public life.

Beyond the message of moral revival, Ezenwafor used the opportunity to call for compassion and charity toward the less privileged during the Easter period. He urged residents to embrace generosity and empathy as acts of faith.

“We should show generosity to those in dire need, especially the less privileged in society. This season calls for giving and creating a sense of belonging for all,” he said.

Ezenwafor concluded by expressing his gratitude to Anambra people for their continued support and trust in his candidacy, promising that his leadership would restore purpose and values to governance in the state.

“The mandate of ndi Anambra is secure under my leadership. I ask for your continued support for my governorship ambition to reposition our dear state. We appreciate your support and cooperation, and we will not take it for granted,” he concluded.
