It has been announced by Governor Uba Sani that all tertiary schools controlled by the state of Kaduna will receive a decrease in tuition rates of fifty percent.

Governor Sani has described this as a significant step toward removing barriers to higher education. At the inauguration of the Kaduna State Students Union chapter at Kaduna State University, the governor stated that the policy has made it simpler for students from low-income backgrounds to pursue higher education in the state.

This statement was made through Professor Bello Ayuba, who serves as the governor’s principal private secretary.

His administration’s accomplishments, which were emphasized at the event’s public speech, were recognized by the students, and he expressed his gratitude to them for awarding him with the Sword of Honour Award and for this recognition.

Students were cautioned by the governor not to give agents of divisiveness and instability the opportunity to utilize them in order to weaken the stability of their communities and divert them from their professional aspirations.

He said, “Government will continue to support students and the youth generally to realize their ambitions. On your part, make sure that an atmosphere of peace prevails to allow for government’s development programmes to run their full course.

“No meaningful development can be achieved in a state of chaos, disunity and mutual mistrust. Going by your conduct over the period that I have been at the helm of affairs of our state so far, you are reliable partners of progress and I can count on you every step of the way.”

According to Sani, agricultural and commercial operations in Kaduna State were severely disrupted as a result of the state’s siege caused by insecurity in several local government areas.

With the united efforts of security agencies, he said, the threats have been much lessened, leading to safer highways, people going back to the fields, and local markets opening again.

Sani also claimed that the Birnin Gwari livestock market, which had been closed for nearly 10 years, and other security-challenged marketplaces in Giwa local government have reopened.

The students praised the governor for lowering tuition and opening new faculties, which earned him the Sword of Honour Award.

The Students Union said, “Decision to facilitate the CBN Intervention Project for the Faculty of Engineering at KASU is a testament to your vision for building a brighter future for the youth.

‘”Furthermore, your directive to KASU management to allow all students to sit for examinations regardless of outstanding fees underscores your deep concern for the less privileged, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints.”
