NAF assets executed a precision strike, eliminating numerous fighters and disabling key infrastructure
A number of terrorists were neutralized and their hideouts were destroyed in Borno State after two coordinated airstrikes, according to the Nigerian Air Force’s announcement on Thursday.
Targeting known insurgent enclaves in Kollaram and Arra, two areas recognized as long-standing terrorist strongholds inside the Sambisa general region and the Southern Tumbuns, the precision strikes were carried out under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai.
The first operation was conducted at 5:30 a.m. in Kollaram after credible intelligence and surveillance footage confirmed the presence of high-value terrorist commanders and operational facilities, around 3:55 p.m., another strike was carried out in Arra, which was also located inside the Sambisa axis, according to NAF Headquarters Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
It reads, “In a bold display of force and precision, the Nigerian Air Force, under Operation Hadin Kai, executed two highly successful air interdiction missions on April 15, 2025, targeting terrorist strongholds in Borno State’s Sambisa general area and the Southern Tumbuns.
“The first strike occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. in Kollaram, a known insurgent hub. Intelligence reports, corroborated by surveillance footage, confirmed the presence of high-value terrorist commanders and several operational structures, including those equipped with solar panels. NAF assets executed a precision strike, eliminating numerous fighters and disabling key infrastructure.”
Real-time visuals collected from intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions appeared to depict groups of armed terrorists who were actively operating in the region, as stated by Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF spokesman.
It was emphasized by Ejodame that the airstrikes are a component of a continuing and increased aerial campaign that is intended at reducing the capabilities of terrorists, disrupting leadership structures, and removing insurgent sanctuaries scattered around the region.
