Elizabeth Oshoba, the talented Nigerian boxer, has inked a promotional deal with Most Valuable Promotions, a management company owned by YouTube celebrity turned boxer Jake Paul. This strategic partnership is set to catapult Oshoba’s career to new heights, providing her with greater exposure on the international stage.
As the current WBC Silver and IBO International Featherweight champion, Oshoba joins an impressive roster of elite female fighters at MVP, including unified super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney, IBF bantamweight titleholder Shurretta Metcalf, and interim WBA super featherweight champion Jennifer Miranda. Oshoba’s impressive performances have been making waves in international boxing circles, with her recent dominant points victory over Czech fighter Lenka Volejnikova at York Hall in London extending her unbeaten professional record to 9-0-0.
“Every fight is a step towards greatness,” Oshoba said in an interview after her recent victory. “This wasn’t just about winning, but also about improving on my technique and showing my versatility in the ring.” These words encapsulate her dedication to the sport and her relentless pursuit of excellence.
The 25-year-old Nigerian made history in 2024 by becoming the first female Nigerian boxer to win a world title. She is currently ranked 10th in the World Boxing Association featherweight division and fourth in the super lightweight category. Her amateur pedigree includes a bronze medal at the 2019 African Games and a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, achievements that helped launch her professional career.
With MVP’s backing, Oshoba’s goal of becoming number one in the world appears closer to reality. The promotion company has been actively expanding its roster of female fighters and placing them on high-profile cards. Reports suggest Oshoba could feature on the undercard of the highly anticipated Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 event scheduled for July 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York, which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Since turning professional, Oshoba has secured the IBO female super-featherweight title and the WBC silver featherweight championship, the latter by knocking out Italy’s Michela Braga in the 10th round at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena. With Paul’s promotional backing, Oshoba is poised to continue her impressive ascent through the ranks of women’s professional boxing.
