Born on January 4, 1951, in Enugu State, Chukwu began his journey in football at a young age, playing barefoot with friends on the streets of Enugu before rising to national and international prominence. He attended Christ Church Primary School Uwani and National Secondary School, Nike, Enugu. Chukwu’s playing career included stints with Enugu Rangers and the Nigerian national team. He won several titles, including four Challenge Cup wins and the Africa Cup Winner’s Cup in 1977.¹ ²
