I have not told anybody that I’m leaving the Labour Party.
The claims that Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the general election of 2023, is intending to leave the party have been refuted by Obi.
During the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting that is now taking place in Abuja, he provided this clarification on behalf of the party members.
Peter Obi said, “I’ve not told anybody that I’m leaving the Labour Party.”
Regarding his exit from the Labour Party, Obi has indicated that he has not engaged in any conversations with any personal or collective entity.
It was highlighted by him that any choices about the future of the party will be taken in conjunction with the party’s representatives.
In a statement released on Sunday April 6, Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party in the election of 2023, revealed that his counterpart from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is planning to join the Social Democratic Party, following in the footsteps of Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State.
Adebayo dropped a hint about it when he appeared as a guest on the Politics program that is broadcast on Television.
