The armed men entered NURTW Chairman’s house and tie up the security guard before searching him
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, six masked men barged into the apartment of Mustapha Adekunle, also known as Sego, the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Surulere, Lagos, they wanted to assassinate him.
Thankfully, Sego was not at his house when the attack happened. The assailants reportedly showed up at his Surulere home on Gbadamosi Close at about 11 o’clock in the night.
According to reports, the armed men entered the house and proceeded to tie up the security guard before searching for the union head.
Word on the street was that Sego had already departed for an event with a small group of friends who had paid him a visit earlier in the day.
Fear and alarm were expressed by residents of the neighborhood as a result of the audacious attack, which caused shockwaves all over the community.
People are concerned that the attackers might come back. Since then, officers from the Area C Police Command have made their way to the residence in order to evaluate the situation and maintain a record of the damages.
Additionally, they questioned the security guard, who reportedly offered important information that will assist with the inquiry that is currently underway.
A close acquaintance of Sego has stated that the chairman of the NURTW is extremely anxious about being targeted, particularly at a time when he is concentrating on enacting reforms that are intended to improve the condition of union members.
A further statement made by the associate was that Sego has committed to working in full cooperation with law enforcement agencies in order to guarantee that those responsible are brought to justice.
