Edwin Clark who passed away on Feb 17, 2025, will be laid to rest on May 13, 2025, in his family compound in Kiagbodo.
A funeral service for the late elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark has been planned for the 13th of May, 2025, and will take place in the Kiagbodo Community, which is located in the Burutu Local Government Area of Delta.
The leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) passed away on Monday 17th February, 2025 at the age of 97, as said in a statement that was signed by Professor C. C. Clark on behalf of the family.
A press briefing was held on Saturday at the family residence in Kiagbodo, and Mr. Penaowei, Clark’s eldest son, was the one who made the announcement regarding the burial occasion.
During the announcement of the funeral plans for the former leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Mr. Clark explained that the burial date was selected after carrying out appropriate consultations with the key parties, which included the government.
He said, “Our father, who passed away on Feb 17, 2025, will be laid to rest on May 13, 2025, in his family compound in Kiagbodo.
“The dates for the funeral were carefully considered and agreed upon in consultation with stakeholders including the government, political associates, religious bodies, and socio-cultural organisations.”
During the briefing, Mr. Clark was accompanied by a number of members of his family, including Chief Ebikeme Clark, who would later become the Delta Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development, as well as other important relatives.
According to him, the funeral services would start on May 7 in Abuja and will end on May 13 with the final burial rituals being performed in Kiagbodo.
