14 suspects have been arrested, and after the holiday, they will be transferred to Abuja for further interrogation – Okpebholo

It has been verified by the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, that the suspects who were detained in connection with the barbaric killing of travelers in Uromi will be transfer to Abuja for additional interrogation following the Eid-el-Fitri public holiday.

This information was shared by Okpebholo on Monday, March 31, during a meeting with his counterpart in Kano State, Abba Yusuf, as well as the families of those who had passed away.

IREPORT247NEW reported that the victims, who were traveling in a truck, insisted that they were hunters, but they were discovered to be in possession of nineteen (19) firearms that had been manufactured locally.

As a result of the vigilantes’ dissatisfaction with their answer, they accused them of being criminals and subjected them to mob justice, which ultimately led to tragic outcomes.

In the aftermath of the incident, the Edo State Police Command moved rapidly to deploy officers in order to restore order in the community that was impacted. During the ongoing manhunt for additional individuals who may have been engaged in the incident, fourteen (14) suspects have been apprehended.
