A tragic occurrence that has left community in shock, Thunder strike killed herder, along with 12 cows.
Southern Kaduna was struck by lightning, which resulted in the deaths of at least 12 cows and a herder named Ibrahim Likit.
Matuak Giwa, Bondon District, Moro’a Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State was the location where the incident took place at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
When the lightning strike struck, the young herder was taking shelter from the rain with his cattle, as stated by Simon Ayuba, the Village Head of Matuak Giwa. The lightning strike resulted in the instantaneous death of the cattle.
He said, “The herder, along with 12 cows, died on the spot. It was a tragic occurrence that has left the community in shock.”
Mallam Tanko Isiyaka, the Ardo of Bondon District confirmed the incident, he reported that the deceased herder was from Bauchi State.
He expressed his sorrow over the occurrence and made a request for prayers and assistance for the family of the deceased
As the victim was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs. Those who live in the vicinity have expressed their sorrow and sympathy in response to the incident that took place.
