On Sunday, March 30, 2025, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, conducted an inspection of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Package B, the designated venue for the upcoming 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship. The tournament, scheduled to run from April 1 to April 14, is set to bring top volleyball talent from across the continent to Nigeria’s capital.

During his tour of the facility, CGC Adeniyi praised the progress achieved in preparing the venue, crediting the hard work and resourcefulness of the organizing team over the past month. “It’s been one month of dedication, with significant time and energy invested to ensure this facility is ready for the championship,” Adeniyi remarked. He highlighted that while the majority of the preparations are complete, minor adjustments are still underway. “The mats are ready, and both halls will be in excellent condition for the players, officials, and fans to enjoy a great experience,” he added.

Adeniyi, who made the visit to gauge the venue’s readiness ahead of the tournament, expressed general satisfaction with the efforts but noted that some final touches are still needed. “I am fairly satisfied. There are still some small refinements to complete, and I’m confident that by the start of the tournament, everything will be in place,” he stated.

The championship is already generating excitement, with Egypt’s Al Ahly, a multiple-time African champion, being the first team to arrive in Nigeria. Their early presence signals the high anticipation surrounding the event, which promises to showcase elite competition and draw enthusiastic crowds.
